Classic Mushroom Buger


A great burger recipe and awesome way to make the meat you have stretch! I made ours as hamburger steaks and baked them in the oven til done. Made a nice Onion Gravy to go over and it was so good!


Classic Blended Burger
Serves 4-6 burgers .

Ingredients
8 Ounces of your favorite mushroom variety, finely chopped (suggested: crimini or white button)
1 Pound ground beef
1/2 Teaspoon salt
1 Tablespoon olive oil

Finely dice mushrooms or gently pulse in food processor.

In skillet over medium-high heat, warm 1 tablespoon olive oil. Add mushrooms and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown.

Remove from heat and set aside to cool. Transfer cooled mushrooms to medium bowl.

Add ground beef and salt, mixing until combined. Divide the meat mixture into 4 equal patties.

In the same pan over medium-high heat, add remaining tablespoon of olive oil and cook burger patties until the internal temperature reaches 160 degrees, about 5 minutes per side.


Onion Gravy

1/2 stick salted Butter
1 tsp Olive Oil
1 good size Onion
1 tsp Seasoning Salt
1/2 tsp ground Pepper
3 cups strong beef broth
4 Tbs flour

Add olive oil and butter into a kettle and allow to fully melt. Add onions and saute til starting to brown. Add seasoning salt, pepper and 2 cups broth to onions. Allow to boil. Mix flour into last cup broth and stir til smooth. Add to mixture and turn heat down to simmer for about 10 minutes and enjoy!
