Mom’s Pot Pie Recipe
We always called this Pot Pie even though it's more of a flat dumpling. Very easy and tasty and great for a cold night!
Mom’s Pot Pie Recipe
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon soft butter
1 teaspoon seasoning salt
1 large egg, beaten lightly
⅔ cup milk
1 teaspoon basil
In a bowl blend together the flour, the butter, and the salt. In a small bowl whisk tog
ether the egg and 2/3 cup milk, add the mixture until it forms a soft but not sticky dough. Halve the dough,roll out the other half on a heavily floured surface and cut into squares. Transfer the squares to a lightly floured baking sheet and roll and cut out the remaining dough in the same manner. Add to boiling broth. Mom would do this with both chicken and ham butts
